Howdy, thanks for stopping by!

My name is 刘九泽, I also go by “George”.

I’m a 4th year Film Production major at Penn State University with a passion for games, and I aim to join a Triple-A game studio as a sound designer after graduation.

Born & raised in Beijing, China, I moved to Rockville, Maryland, with my mother when I was 14, while my father stayed back to support us financially.

Videogame was a big "No-No" growing up. I played many years of ice hockey in Beijing for a team called "Fire Dragons", Every half a year we would travel to Hong Kong and compete in the Youth Hockey Championship there, and my teammates would bring their PSP or NDS on the plane, I thought that was the COOLEST toy I’ve ever seen, but my parents decided to "protect" me from such technology.

I never viewed my desire to pursue the game industry as an act of rebellion towards my parents, but rather as my own answer to finding an industry I feel I belong to.

But I still have much to learn to meet the industry standard. I am, by majority, self-taught, and I spend most of my free time practicing on passion projects.

Even as a film major, my college doesn’t offer much when it comes to audio mixing, let alone GAME sound design. So I started practicing with footage of my favorite games and remaking sound for them, and that became my weekend’s "happy-hours''. I will load up a custom game, listen, and take notes on why I enjoy listening to those sounds while playing.

Speaking of which, my favorite games are:

  • Overwatch (GM Support Main)

  • League of Legends (Finally hit Gold in 2023)

  • Modern Warfare 2019 (Damascus Unlocked)

  • Resident Evil 4 Remake

  • GTA V

  • Mortal Kombat 11

  • Injustice 2

  • Insurgency: Sandstorm

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

  • Battlefield 3 & 4

  • Apex Legends

Besides enjoying videogames and school, I have a variety of other interests as well.

Like I’ve mentioned before, I played many years of ice hockey even after I came to Maryland; I played for my high school for 4 years as a defenseman, and I earned the nickname "The Great Wall of China" because at the end of the season I had more puck-marks on my jersey than our goalie.

Photography is another one of my happy-places to go to, I’ve been to many beautiful locations such as Antarctica, the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, Buenos Aires, Shanghai... The Instagram account I linked on this website is a photography account I made back in freshman year; please feel free to check them out!

I am aspiring to become a professional voiceover artist, more specifically a Chinese/Mandarin voiceover artist. I speak broadcast-level Chinese and can bring you the most authentic Mandarin you can find. I need to finish making my VO website…

I also love cooking, I make a KILLER-STEAK that, unless you don’t eat meat or are allergic to beef, I can assure you that it will satisfy your taste, bud. (I make dad jokes too.)
